I would be lying if I didn’t admit that sometimes this project has made me feel a bit like this tree. I put some constraints that have felt like working inside of a bottle and, while I realize that the lid isn’t on tight and so there is still room to grow, at times it has felt pretty confining.
But I constrained the project on purpose. Partly I just wanted to prove that a project could be undertaken pretty much by anyone. Even though I have a DSLR and some lights, I could have done this with a smart phone and a lamp.
It did force me to think differently about how and what to photograph. Admittedly, I took a lot of pictures that were similar but I liked that I couldn’t just run to the store anytime I had an idea. It would have been easier if I had allowed myself to use stuff I had lying around, and maybe I should allowed that.
Anyway, if anyone is feeling like a tree in a bottle, you can do some pretty cool things if you just use what you’ve got.
