Tumor Raiders

What a beautiful window.

Saturday was LOTOJA. This was the back window of our support vehicle. Lovely day for a bike ride. Not such a lovely day to be a bum that had to sit on the bike all day. I got to the finish line with a couple of teammates although the sign was down at the end and I did end up with a DNF. But it was good being with my teammates and having all the support of friends and people out on the course.

Circling

I surely hope those aren’t buzzards.

I have been preparing for LOTOJA tomorrow so this morning I have been running around like a chicken with its head cut off. But I saw all these birds circling over the mountain. I’m not sure what kind they are, but I sure hope that they aren’t vultures and that it doesn’t portend something dark for tomorrow.

Reflecting

It’s a building inside a building. Neat.

Sometimes it’s good to reflect. I liked the reflection of this building in the windows of another building, but the thing about it is, it isn’t really true to life. The building doesn’t actually have features that look like loops. Sometimes we look at things and don’t quite see them as they are. Whether it be other people or more often ourselves, we should be a little careful about how we think we see things. And maybe we should forgive those “flaws” we see, they might not really be there. They might be a product of our own flawed vision.

Glasses

Not the kind you wear.

Today I feel like an empty jar. I took a nap when I got home and then tried to think of a good picture for the day. I gathered up the three glass items that I had for this project and took a picture.

We often think that glass is fragile, and it can be, but glass is really hard. That is why it shatters. It is very hard and that makes it brittle. Sometimes, people get that way. They become hard and unbending and then they just shatter. Other people are more like iron, they take dents and dings and get a little bent out of shape, but they just endure and endure. Are you glass or are you iron?

Magic

You might think it’s an intelligence potion because it’s full of nerds.

Do you ever wish you had a magic potion? If you did, what would you want it to do? Would it be a potion for money or fame? Maybe, you would wish for health or friendship. I think we all wish we had a potion for something or other at different times in our lives.

I often wish for Matt or Nate to be back around. Or I wish that I had time back that I wasted. More often I wish that I could do things over because I didn’t do them right the first time. On the plus side, I often get that wish, even without a potion. I get to do the same things over again and sometimes I even learn my lesson and do them right the second… or tenth time.

We don’t always get the chance to do some things over, and that can be sad. But I think it’s a good idea to remember that we can sometimes try again and other times we can apologize when we can’t fix it. It may not be in potion form, but maybe it’s a kind of magic anyhow.
