Labels

Any labels that are not family friendly are coincidental.

If you watch the news or get on the internet or hang out with terrible people you have probably seen a lot of people being reduced to a label. The labels are often hyperbolic and generally awful. I was thinking about that as I was looking for an idea for today’s picture.

I considered gluing them together and arranging them like people walking around in a crowd. instead I just laid them out in a grid pattern. Some of them are probably easy to spot, others might be a little more difficult to pick out.

But is this a collection of people being judged on one trait, or is it just the description of one person in all their messiness and complexity?

Socks

I thought we were cut from the same cloth… No, you were just a bootie call.

Today being Valentine’s day and all, I went with a pair of socks. I took several other pictures with different sayings but went with this one for the post. Turns out there are quite a few puns you can make about socks and relationships.

Angels among us

But to be fair the hugging ones can be off-putting

I’m not going to lie, if you’re not a touchy-feely person then the people that hug can be more like demons than angels. There are people who enter into our lives and give us the support we need when we are at our most desperate.

It’s a wonderful thing that people like this exist. Sometimes it might even be us that get to play angel for someone around us.

Only when it’s dark

The sun is a star. Shut up kid!

Some days just suck. I mean, face it, Mondays come once a week. I wish I could say I always look on the bright side, but every silver lining has a cloud. Even a curmudgeon like me has those moments when things look down and we see a glimmer of hope shining from somewhere.

When things get down, we have those friends we rely on, the family we take for granted and our deepest hopes that we often don’t see when all is bright and shiny. We have those stars in our lives that were always there but we didn’t notice at the time.

Hope

We can always find a reason if we need to.

Hope is a powerful thing. It lies at the root of a lot that we do and it is tragic and devastating when we lose it. Today’s post is just a little reminder that there is always room for hope and it is something we should cling to if things start to look dark.

Sunburst

Wait, there’s no sun, it’s snowing.

I was going for something completely different when I started with this, but as the camera searched for the focus point it made this sun shape in the center. You can still see the color of the crayons in the rays extending outward from the sun shape in the center. And right now it is snowing and there is 3-4 inches of snow on my driveway. It is supposed to go on all night so that is going to be fun tomorrow morning. But since tonight there is no sun, I think that it is appropriate to add a little sunshine to the day.

And it’s only Monday

This is how I feel today.

I think this describes perfectly the way I am feeling this week. It’s only Monday and it feels like the week is chaos already. Unfortunately, I don’t see things calming down until, maybe, the end of the week. So I’m just going to be a mess of colors and splashes of wax for the next few days.

Just as a side note, glass may shatter while you are melting wax on it. I would suggest that you find a different and better way. It was not my most stellar day for coming up with the right way to do things.
